Inauguration of Multi Purpose Synthetic Floodlit Stadium and KU North Zone Volleyball Men’s Championship 2017

The Department of Physical Education organized the Grand Opening of the Multi Purpose Synthetic Stadium and hosted the Kerala University North Zone Volleyball Men’s Championship in the Stadium from 11th October 2017 to 13th October 2017. Lt Dr Baiju P Jose, HoD, Department of Physical Education welcomed the gathering. The College Principal, Prof Anitha Thoams gave the Introductory remarks. Shri Chittayam Gopakumar MLA, Adoor inaugurated the Stadium and the officially inducted the championship. The function was presided over by the College Manager His Grace Dr Zacharias Mar Aprem Metropolitan.  Felicitations were made by Smt. Prassana Vijayakumar, Erathu Gram Panchayath President, Dr. K K Venu Director, Department of Physical Education, University Kerala, Mr K Anilkumar, President, District Sports Council, Prof John M George, Dr Varghese Perayil, Prof Itty Varghese, Prof Jose V Koshy, Prof A K Thomas, Mr. Muhammed Shafi.

Blood Donation Campaign 2017

A Blood Donation Campaign was organised as a joint effort of Department of Chemistry and Department of Commerce on 06/10/2017 at Seminar Hall. The Blood Bank Unit of Pathanamthitta General Hospital visited the college with their mobile Blood Bank Unit to receive the donation. The entire college community wholeheartedly participated in the event.

Kudos to College Football Team

St Cyril’s College Football Team has won accolades as they defeated NSS College, Perayam in the Inter Collegiate football Championship for 3-1. The entire college community applauds the winners.

Oath Taking of College Union Members 2017

The Oath Taking ceremony of the newly elected College Union Members has been taken place on 05/10/2017. The Union Members took the oath which was led by the Principal. Prof Smitha Kochummen, Convener of Union Election was also presented.

Cleaning Campaign 2017

As part of the cleaning programme organised by NSS unit of the college and Swacha Bharath Mission, the volunteers visited the Veluthambi Dalawa Museum, Mannadi and cleaned the premises of the museum. Prof Siji Rachel George and Prof Shyni Kochummen,  NSS Coordinators accompanied the volunteers.

Seminar on “Save Ozone- Be Safe”

As part of World Ozone Day celebrations, 2017, an awareness seminar on “Save Ozone- Be Safe” was conducted by the Department of Chemistry and supported by KSCSTE on 22/09/2017. Dr Ajith James Jose, Asst Prof, Department of Chemistry, SB College, Changanachery inaugurated the function and handled a technical session on ‘Say Hello to Ozone’. The function was presided over by College Principal Prof. Anitha Thomas. Prof A K Thomas, HoD, Department of Physics and Dr Gejo George PDF, MG University, Kottayam felicitated the occasion. Technical session II was handled by Dr Gejo George on the topic “Let’s Protect Ozone”.
