The college observed international Yoga day on 21/06/2018. The program was organized by the NSS unit of the college inaugurated by the principal, Prof. Anitha Thomas. After the inaugural session. Yogacharya Sri. A. K Gopalan Nair enlightened the students with the knowledge of yoga. About a hundred students performed Yoga in the final session of the program.

Hard Rain Project Poster Exhibition organized jointly by the departments of English and chemistry
Intertwining arts and science together, Hard Rain Project tries to bring the message of an impending
planetary apocalypse to students at schools and universities and the laymen through exhibitions, talks
and events. The project combines photographs by the widely published photographer Mark Edwards
along with Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan’s song “ A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall.” The power of visual media is
harnessed to raise awareness of pressing global concerns and stimulate action. It earns its fame as a
creative means to promote education for sustainable development. The Department of English and
the Department of Chemistry, St Cyril’ College, Adoor, joined hands on June 5, 2018 to teach the next
generation of citizens about sustainable planetary development. The programme was inaugurated by
handing over a sapling by Shri Kamarudeen Mundutharayil, Secretary Kanivu Charitable Organization
and alumnus of the college.

The College reopened after summer vacation on 04/06/2018. During the opening day, an orientation program for both UG and PG students was organized. Prof. Anitha Thomas presided over the opening day meeting. Prof. A. K Thomas, Prof. Daisy Mathew, Dr. Baiju P Jose, Prof. Susan Alexander, Dr. Runcy wilson, Prof. Smitha Kochumman and Prof. Sajin Philip felicitated the gathering. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Rejeena V Rajan.
The Cyrilian award day was observed on 19/03/2018 during which Faculty members who have given significant contributions to the college were honored. Dr. Mini Samuel (Department of was awarded this years “Principals award for outstanding contribution”` for her selfless service to the college. During the event Mr. Blesson Mathew (Department of Economics), Mrs. Minu Rajeev ( Department of English), Dr. Anila K (Department of History) were also honored for their hard work for the college. Also, students who had performed exceptionally well in academic and non-academic activities were awarded. The department of History also released a book ” Reflections on Swami Vivekananda” which was unveiled during the function by H.G. Dr. Zacharias Mar Aprem Metropolitan.
The college day celebrations 2017-18 took place on the 23rd of March. The celebrations started with a meeting which was presided by the principal Prof. Anitha Thomas. Students who displayed excellence in curricular and extra curricular activities were honored in the event.
The department of English has conducted a Literary Festival ” PANSOPHY 2K18″ on the 20th of march. During the festival Prof. Khyrunnisa Vijayakumar unveiled a book complied by the English literature students of the college on the 2017 Nobel laureate for Literature, Bob Dylan.

Department of Physics has conducted a National Symposium on Spectroscopy:Fundamentals Recent Trends on 09/03/18. Dr. N.V, Unnikrishnan, Emeritus Scientist, School of pure and applied Physics inaugurated the event. Dr. K. C George, associate professor (retired) St. Berchmans College and Dr. Bena Jyothi, Women’s Christian College, Nagercoil handled the technical sessions. Research Scholars from various institutes in and out of Kerala participated in the symposium.
Women’s day celebrations 2018 were organized on the 8th of March 2018 by the women’s cell of the college in association with “Seethalayam”.
