A helping hand to the flood victims

Kerala is in a state of shock after the devastating might of the flood has hit her hard. Many are dead, injured and deprived of home and food. At this point St. Cyril’s has taken up the initiative to help the victims by acting as a Stocking yard for relief good. The faculty are relentlessly working to ensure the timely supply of food, water and medicine to the flood victims.

IQAC Faculty Enrichment Seminar

The IQAC of St. Cyril’s College conducted a faculty enrichment seminar on 10-08-18. The sessions were handled by the dean of faulty of Bern University, Switzerland, Dr. Angela Berlis. Furthermore, Rev. Peter Frinstra and Rev. Sam T Koshi interacted with the faculty members.

Department of English has conducted “Making Swords of Pen”: Media for the young- a two day workshop on the 17th and 18th of July 2018. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri. Varghese C. Thomas, Assistant editor, Malayala Manorama.

Farewell, dear Samkutty!

Mr. Samkutty has retired from the post of Lab assistant (department of Chemistry) after 33 years of sincere service to the college. He is a man known for his gentle character and commitment to the job. All the faculty of st. Cyril’s college along with former faculties and director board members attended the farewell function.

Inter-Collegiate Seminar

The department of Physics organized a one day inter-collegiate seminar on “Programming in Python” on 27th July 2018. Ms. Bindhu Sivasankaran, Assistant Professor, Yonus College of Engineering and Technology, Kollam was the resource person. About 90 students from 6 colleges participated in the seminar.

Bincy Rachel Babu: The shining star of St. Cyril’s College

Bincy Rachel Babu who secured the second rank in English Language and literature hails from a middle class family and is the epitome of hard work, dedication to the job she is entrusted with, commitment to fellow beings, and above all the personification of humility. She had secured the third position in the 2015 BA English University examinations. She endeared herself to the students and teachers with her sweet smile and manners par excellence. An simple and quiet girl, she did her work with diligence was always prompt in all assigned activities and even kept her classmates motivated to scale greater heights. Her father K. Babu supports his family through his agricultural activities. She has a sister Lincy Babu who is pursuing her degree and a brother Libin working abroad. Her mother Gracy K Babu is a home maker and the pillar of support for Bincy. Her motto in life is “Do what you love and Love what you do”
