RESEARCH CENTRE

  1. PG and Research Department of Physics: In 2023, the college proudly saw its Physics department officially recognized as a research center by the University of Kerala. This achievement underscores the department’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and innovation. Led by distinguished research guides, the department is making significant strides in various fields. Dr. Anoop Chandran (MSc, PhD, DSKPDF) specializes in nanotechnology, carbon nanomaterials, polymer nanocomposites for EMI shielding, water purification technology, and photovoltaics. His expertise is further reflected in his active membership with the American Chemical Society and his role as a reviewer for numerous international journals. Alongside him, Dr. Alen S (MSc, MPhil, PhD) focuses on computational spectroscopy and materials science, contributing a wealth of knowledge to the department. Equipped with advanced instruments such as impedance meters, polymer printers, furnaces, ovens, and stirrers, the research center supports the work of three dedicated research scholars currently under Dr. Chandran’s supervision. This recognition highlights St. Cyril’s College as a burgeoning hub for cutting-edge research in the field of physics.
