The Department of Political Science was established in 1981 with Pre- Degree classes. The department handles complementary papers of political science for (B A History 1991 onwards, B A English 1995 onwards, B A Economics 1999 onwards) undergraduate programmes. The Department of political science has conducted national seminars, celebrating national important days and giving awareness class on electoral literacy and democratic matters to the students and to the community through extension activities. The department of Political Science also handles FYUGP minor, multi- disciplinary, value added and skill enhancement courses in 2024 onwards
